What Is Botox®?

Botox is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow's feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows and moderate to severe crow’s feet lines in adults.

Here's a little history on Botox®
  1. In the 1950's scientists discovered that botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) could be used to reduce muscle spasms.
  2. In the 1960's and 1970's Botox was used as a medical treatment for strabismus (crossed eyes).
  3. 1989, Allergan introduces Botox, first botulinum toxin approved by the FDA to treat blepharospasm (eyelid spasms) and strabismus.
  4. 2000, FDA approves Botox therapy for cervical dystonia to reduce the severity of abnormal head position and neck pain.
  5. 2002, FDA approves Botox Cosmetic, the same formulation as Botox, with dosing specific to moderate to severe frown lines between the brow.
  6. 2004, FDA approves Botox for severe underarm sweating when topical medicines don't work well enough.
  7. 2009, 20 year anniversary of Botox.
  8. 2010, FDA approves Botox therapy for increased muscle stiffness in elbow, wrist, and finger muscles with upper limb spasticity.

Botox is the first medicine to be studied and then approved by the FDA specifically for the prevention of headaches in adults with Chronic Migraine who have 15 or more days each month with headache lasting 4 or more hours each day in people 18 years or older.

All of our injections are performed exclusively by our physician Dr. Sandhu. With 10 years of experience using injectables, you can feel confident that she will deliver the most natural and subtle results.

First, she will take you through a comprehensive consultation to inform you on exactly what your specific needs are to treat your concerns, next she'll take you through the treatment process. Using the smallest needles possible, she works quickly and efficiently to put you at ease. Most clients do not feel the needle at all, and upon injection a slight stinging sensation may be felt.

Overall treatment is comfortable, quick and you will start to see the initial results in just days with full results in 14 days that will last up to 3 months.
